ZB Hoefsmid, Qualification, which give acces to the membership of the Dutch Farriers Organisation. The program contents: Forging a normal front and hind shoe, making 9 special shoes from kegshoes, trimming and shoeing horses, anatomy and physiology of the horse, diseases of the hoof, bookkeeping, ergonomics, conformation of the horse.
Duration
2 years one day a week; 2,5 years of apprenticeship.
Accomodation
The farrier school is a part of the Centre in Barneveld, which is part of the Practical Training Centre and the Groenhorst College for Equine Studies with Management.
Training possibilities
The Horse Center of PTCplus has about 40 horses stabled, so there are always possibilities for shoeing horses.
